Boots

These boots were home on leave, and so I took the liberty to draw them. Unfortunately they needed to pack up and move on before I was able to finish the pastel. They belong to a new United States Marine. I am sure they will return again.

I'm glad you had the boots at home!! Beautiful and sentimental drawing/painting. Hugs.

You may feel this isn't finished, Robin but you captured the emotion. One painting that speaks a thousand words. The hat was the perfect touch.:) Well done!

Love pictures of boots. They are like fingerprints!

@Jo - yes it is always good to have the boots home. We will be seeing more of the boy until after the New Year, when he will receive his papers telling him what is next.

@Billie - Thank Billie, the time spent studying these objects always etches them in my mind. I think next time I just might make them larger, since they are mighty big boots to fill

@ Rodeo Princess - never heard that before, but I am sure that is true for those that wear them. I found it sobering to know that a dogtag needs to accompany these boots at all times.

Thank you LL. I never before understood the meaning of a pair of boots. I do now.
