This next week my son will participate in one of the hardest four days in his life. Most people never challenge themselves to this extreme in their lifetime. Please send encouraging thoughts his way. We will be able to call him a Marine on Thursday.

I know how very proud of him you are but I had to chuckle when I saw the baby pic, Robin. What a difference 18 years made..huh? Who would've guessed back then he'd grow up to look so fierce.
Thanks Billie.
Yes, my baby boy grew up.
Having a son in the military myself I know how proud this can make you. The first time I stood with Michael in his uniform and saw the way people looked at him my heart swelled ready to burst.
Cangratulations to you both. I know you are very proud of him and the path he has chosen in life. I wish him the best and will send good thoughts his way.
Awe Robin, what incredible contrast in pictures, they say so much. Give him a hug from me in appreciation for what he is doing and what he has accomplished.
Anita - Best wishes to Michael on his tour in Iraq
Jeanette - thank you for your encouraging thoughts. We have a prayer chain arranged with the Platoon family members. An impressive bunch.
Mary - you bet I will give an extra big hug from all his supporters. Thanks for helping me through this.
Robin, thank you and your son for his service. We have a Marine son as well. :) Big hugs to both of you. He is a handsome young man and has a great Mom!
Congratulations, you have every reason to be proud. These are wonderful photos. I second Jo, thank you to you and your son for his service in making the world a better place. Best wishes for the coming week!
Congratulations! My DH is a former Marine and they are a Marine all their lives.
Semper fi!
Jo - the Hug is accepted graciously. He is doing The Crucible this week and on Thursday we can release a sigh of relief. The celebration is next week. Can't wait!
Didn't realize how large the "family" was.
Teresa - Thank you so much. It has been an incredible learning experience and the beginning of a roller coaster ride. Not that I hadn't already purchased the E ticket.
This could be a lifetime pass.
I will update occasionally.
Teri - another in the "Family". What an experience. I am humbled to be a part of the USMC now. (ooops ... in one week I will be... not rushing things)
Full of pride
