21x21" charcoal on Rives BFK
Still mapping out a computer plan with my son. In the meantime, I am trying to come up with ways to continue to function. Today, I had an AhHa moment, and decided to take a photo with my iPhone, and make an update with iPhoto. Mini computer in my hand and I didn't even think about that.
I have been working on one of my last organic shadow pieces, before I move more towards a man-made, mechanical grouping. Again, I captured this shadow up in a local area called The Cobb Estate. One of the bushes was stripped bare of it's leaves for the winter, and made some great abstracted shapes on the paper.
In my studio I have been enhancing the depth and flicker of the shadow and light , and I am liking the results.

I'm liking this one too, Robin! this sets a real mood. very expressive!
Thanks Ms Billie. Since it was taken with my iPhone, the lights are not shining as much as they are IRL. But then again.. you knew that.
I like how this is coming out. It seems to be drawing itself.... almost.
I really like the way this is looking Robin, and hope you get your computer fixed soon. I just had a break from the kids and will stick it out just one week more. They will move into their house next week. I miss blogging, painting and my friends.:)
Hi Mary!
Thank you. I decided not to spend the $ on fixing my computer, but I have been working with David to find me a good mac. They have some that are refurbished and still have the same warranty. So we are searching for the best one.
Can't wait to talk again.
Oh yes, that one speaks to me...very inspiring !
it's beautiful!
Robin wow there is so much depth to this piece. It draws me in wondering what is beyond the shadows. Hope you get a computer soon.
Robin, Another magical piece. Stunning Ginny
Yikes... all my comments went to the junk file on my daughters computer.
Martin - you always lift my spirits with your visits.
ujwala - I am also touched by your visits as well. Thank you.
Toni - yes, shadows are so very interesting when studied. Of course I am also making this my own by finding the shadow of my choice. Then I get to bring it to life on the paper.
I decided to repair my current computer and hope for the best. If my son was spending my money I would have the latest and greatest, but I need to be practical for now. I hope it will outlive the warranty (90 days). It is quite amazing what I can do with this phone though.
Ginny - well you were there, and saw the gorgeous day we had to work with.
Thanks for being so supportive.
Hugs
I actually really like the subtlety of this version of Unadorned. Can't wait to see what you are envisioning for the finished product!
