This piece is taking on a life of it's own. I am still working on a name for it, though it is a California Sycamore. The circle of light, surrounding the incredible leaf shapes is such fun to draw. This tree was in the beginning stages of fall. The leaves are curling up and becoming brittle. This has created angular shapes in the shadows.
I think this image is a fitting one to post on the last day of October.

The abstractness of this is apparent, but so are the structures of the leaves and light. I do like it a lot.
I took some photos of fall leaves last weekend and when I uploaded them, there was a similar pattern on a maple tree trunk that I just may try. The viewpoint of the tree and the shapes are very interesting.
this is still a work in progress.
Sycamores I believe are in the Maple family. As they dry up they are interesting.
I love the abstract quality of these pieces. Robin, I just wanted to let you know that our chats and emails really help me an enormous amount. I'm a few steps behind you but following you determinedly!
So glad to know Anita that it helps.
I am encouraged by these pieces, even if only the fact that it gives me an idea of what goes into a series.
Hugs
