
Here is an update on the Gingko shadow. As you can see I have been playing with the depth of the left side. Keeping the abstract quality, yet offering some values to keep the interest. Pushing and pulling at this stage. Stepping back quite often to keep the overall composition in perspective.
I just love the natural qualities of charcoal.

It definitely works for this piece. I find myself finding other shapes in the leaf shadows...a little bird, a face, people talking, the ogre under the bed... :) Love it!

Jeanette - I do know that can happen with this sort of work, especially when it moves toward the abstract. Guess I should give it more thought so to make sure there is no underlying messages.
