Very beautiful. The drawing has such subtle value changes.
WOW - just WOW
Simply lovely, Robin. Best wishes for a wonderful 2008.
Thank you Felicity. I love the richness of charcoal
Laurel - I appreciate you stopping by. I am looking at creating depth whenever possible. The range of values helps me to do this.
Sandy - Thanks so much for the double WOW
Robyn - Thank you so much for the wishes... I am going to put them away safely, and bring them out when the going gets tough. I always appreciate your support.
omg! you did it! you said you liked this ref. you did a bang up job of it, too.*thumbsup*
Robin, you make charcoal drawings look so effortless. This is lovely.
Robin, I am so impressed with the elegance of this drawing---and it's done in charcoal on a very small sheet of paper! In my brain and hands, charcoal is for big paper and chunky, quick drawings. I doubly appreciate, therefore, the results you've achieved.
Billie - I said it and did it...thank you my friend
Jeanette - a bit like chewing gum... just more patience
Laura - yes that is true for some charcoal, with messy hands and a smudge on the nose. I however love my charcoal pencils so that I can keep the burnt stick under control. Thank you so much for your very thoughtful comments.
Robin, Shading on this is so nice and delicate. Good luck on your ventures in 2008.
Robin, you did such a beautiful job on this as you do always with your Charcoals and other work too. Wonderful use of the three lights and darks.:)
Robin, this is a great charcoal! I love the graininess of the background, the form of the mug and the bright highlight of the paper. Amazing that I can even like a mug drawing after staring at mine for months!!!
You are off to a great start in 2008! I hope it continues for you and you have your most successful year yet. :)
Jo - thank you, I wish you all the best as well
Mary - we need to keep practicing. I love this basic medium now.
Stacy - thanks for stopping by. Miss you! I hold a mug every day so they certainly are a huge factor in my life.
My 2008 is going to be a bit different than planned, but change can prove to be positive at time.
Love the composition and your drawing. It is beautiful. All the best for 2008!
WOW!
Ujwala - can't claim the composition as it was a WDT photo... but I do have a cup just like it... and I am sure I could crumple up some paper after writing a few notes down.
Thank you for the good wishes.
Anita - HAHA! ... thanks ;-)
