Treasures - WIP

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Pulling the form out of these detailed boxes has been a challenge, but one that I feel confident that I am achieving.
The symbols surrounding this piece help me to slowly move forward with it. The idea is to do this as a large painting, so I really want to make sure I nail the values and the light.

Rockin'

I did a quick study today as a warm up. This is for the Wet Canvas class with Diane Wright. I am quite taken by rocks, and should actually paint them more. Couldn't pass this one by.

The Pair

I drew this tonight in a 6"x8" Strathmore sketchbook I just bought. Better paper and cheaper than the bound sketchbooks. They are cute and just as chic. The 400 series loved the charcoal. I am going to fashion an elastic band to keep it shut, and I will be in business on the run. Now... back to my work.
