Found a few handmade gesso panels and I decided to bring out some gouache. Still haven't decided whether or not I will try it again. I much prefer gouache on a porous surface.

Found myself at Eaton Canyon again with Ginny, and Carolyn. Being the day before Thanksgiving, many of our group are traveling, or starting to prep for their feast.
It turned into a perfect day in the foothills, and pockets of color grabbed our attention.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. I hope you are able to take a moment to write a gratitude list. We are so blessed.

Excellent Robin.
I find gouache moves to much for me on a gesso surface.
You and your family have a great Thanksgiving.

This is fascinating, Robin. The pastel-like marks tricked me. I doesn't look like Gouache at all. A wonderful effect of the colours being mixed by the eye.

This looks great Robin and another medium you are very good at. It doesn't surprise me a bit. :)

Robyn-Yes gouache can look like pastel at times, I agree.
Perhaps it is my bad photo that doesn't make it read like paint. I need to get into the habit of using a tripod.
Gouache does produce some beautiful colors, just is a bit more matt than many people prefer. I like the softness.

Beautiful painting! You capture light so well in whatever medium you use.

Felicity - Thanks for stopping by.
The light is what captures my heart to commit to an hour or so.
