I have my focus back.
I haven't be sluffing off. I do have some work that still needs to be seen with my glasses on before I share it. However, taking a few moments to myself has allowed me to approach my large painting with more clarity. Each time I do, I have attempted to create Life on each flat surface. It may not be a living, breathing surface, yet it is tangible and real. So rather than create flatness, I am applying this creamy luscious substance, in a variety of shades, that will allow the viewer to move in and around the forms that I see.
I no longer see it as a still life. It is now a landscape that I have created. I turn on the light, but then I tweak the dimmer a bit. I turn off the light, and I wait until I can see the form in the dark. I understand now that this is so important, before any of the ornamentation is applied.
I am close, but I still have a few more trips to take. Hope you will be along for the ride.

What a lovely descriptive way of seeing your image being created Robin.
I'm definitely along for this ride.
I know you are not finished with it yet Robin but I feel like i want to just reach out and touch the boxes.
This is a beautiful journey you are on and I am glad I can be along for the ride.
Oh wow Robin! The lustre you have achieved with the tissue paper is unbelievable.
Robin - Your grisaille is looking wonderful. Whatever it is you are doing, don't stop! And please let me in on the secret!
Gosh, Robin, this is an awsome process you are following. Fascinating and oh so beautiful already. Tissue paper! What tissue paper?
Wow. This really hit me when I tuned into your blog. I immediately "felt" the tissue paper. The boxes invite you into explore. Looking forward to the next step in the evolution of this painting.
Invcredible work Robin! Those shadings are just amazing! Will follow to see what happens next..
Ronell
I can't stop looking at the tissue in the box. Surely it is the kind that is colored on the outside (silver or gold) and white inside. Thank you for allowing me to join you. I am looking forward to the trip.
Jeanette - thanks, glad to share it with you
Toni - I actually feel like I can walk around them sometimes. Thanks for being around.
Mary - tissue is a fascinating texture to paint.
Anita - the secret is perseverance. No I don't plan on stopping, but a break now and then brings a clarity when I return to it.
Robyn - the paper in the large box, happens to be a golden tissue paper. It is an awesome project, and one that you can not even begin to understand until you embark on it.
Sue - Thank you so much for stopping by. I can't wait until I can put up a decent photo. I hope to have an update soon.
Ronell - thanks for stopping by.
luckyzmom - you are right it is golden tissue. Not white on the inside but not as shiny. Each surface captures the light in such different ways. Thanks for sharing the journey.
I'm floored. This is Stunning. I can't imagine how amazing it will be when it's finished. I'm so excited for you...
juj - sorry I missed this comment. If only I would just get to work on it. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for the encouragement.
