Comfort Zone

Thinking about how long it has been since I sat in a figure drawing class, I believe since college. You do the math if you like, I don't feel like going there.
I stepped out with Lori on Monday, and we went to a free figure drawing workshop at Art Center College of Design, for students and graduates. Starting with one minute studies, then 2, 5, 10, and ended with a 20. After 2.5 hours, Lori and I called it quits and vowed we would be back next week. Good practice for some upcoming work I would like to attempt.

Robin I think these are very good it looks like you have not lost your skills and knowledge of figure drawing in all that time.

I recognise that title! :-)
I really don't think you were out of yours doing these. The third one in particular is very nice.

How lovely for you to get back into some figure drawing again. I envy you finding a class. I haven't had any luck here or not at the right times anyway.

I agree, your ability has not diminished over time.

Yes I enjoyed this workshop as there are students, artists of all levels. There was one older gentleman that was doing these gorgeous drawings with purple, terracotta, and a florescent orange. It was lovely. A young student struggling with the basic shapes was across the room. There is an instructor in the room, to monitor the setting.
I hope you find a group, or I encourage you to put out a call to other artists and develop something.

These are great! I like the geometric angularity in your rendering. Wonderful figure drawings!

I kept trying, unsuccessfully, to leave a comment here yesterday. Will try again because I think your sketches are amazing.

Thank you Jana, I liked that about the view too.
