Indeed you have captured something in this. I think you must realize it yourself because of the quote about surprising even yourself. I can relate.

Ronell - thank you Ronell. I love the light too, and the story behind this piece. The composition came naturally and I have found quite a story hidden within.

Luckyzmom - I have only been using oils for a year now, and to be doing a piece this large already is .. well, taken me by surprise.

Actually fear isn't a part of my art vocabulary. Thankfully I see it all as an adventure. The worst scenario comes no way near other situations that I have found myself in. Extremely glad that I can be an inspiration.
