Frames, Frames and More Frames

I want to tell you about two great companies I have recently had the pleasure of doing business with.

Graphik Dimensions Ltd. in High Point, NC has a wonderful website. I hope you check them out. Even if you are not in the market for framing at this time, it is great fun to take one of your images and upload it to their site, and see what your work will look like framed and matted. I hope you check out their site.
I had the opportunity to purchase some of their frames for a recent show I was in, and for a couple of drawings that sold (Yeah!). I remembered seeing their ads in art magazines, prices were reasonable, and I said to myself... "I have to check out their product". That is how I came across the site. I played around with the different styles, decided on a few simple ones. The silver one was beautiful on one of my plein air landscapes. Then I chose three black frames in a few custom sizes.

I was waiting upon the arrival of one in particular for the show. I was extremely busy the week it arrived. Working diligently to finish up the art, and I waited until the clock struck twelve, and it needed to be framed. I pulled the frame out of the box and DARN! It had a chip in the corner. The paint had chipped off. What could I do? I took a deep breath, and decided that it actually fit the art. Life is not perfect, it has some challenges occasionally, and this was a minor one.

After the art was neatly framed, a bit of black paint in the corner, masked the fact that the frame was damaged, I dashed off an email to the company. Do you know... I received an email back before I even left for the show that evening. They assured me a new frame was already on its way to me. Deborah, from Customer Service was ever so kind. Prompt with her responses and the return of the frame was made so easy, once the replacement came.

I would not hesitate to use this company for my work in the future.

Also, Plein Air Frames, in San Diego, CA, has provided me with some beautiful plein air frames. When I began painting plein air this past year I had no idea that there were special frames to put the canvas panels in. Typically they seem to be gold leaf, and yet I have seen some wonderful variations on this. My first purchase with Plein Air Frames, was for about 5 different simple styles. I was really blown away as to how they changed the emotional response I had to my work. I had picked my best to frame, and it took them to a whole new level. It is hard to express that emotional response, so you will just have to take "my word" for it.

The contact I had with the company was great. I was given an estimate, which I approved, and received the frames within a matter of days. I was very impressed. The care that they were packaged was such that I can reuse the material when I need to ship. Recycle is where it is at, in my book. The frames are made of great quality wood, and were a joy to work with. My collectors were equally impressed with their purchases.

I hope you don't just take my word for it, I do hope that you frame even one painting with their product. I am sure you will have the same response as I did.

So... have I stepped into the shoes of a salesperson? I hope not, I think I will keep my day job. Yet, I like what I like, and I like to share it with my friends. I have not been paid by either of these companies to promote their products.
(Don't know why I was compelled to add that...?)
