20"x30" WN watercolors on Arches 400#

I wanted to share a painting I did a few years back. My first love has always been watercolors. There has been an overwhelming need to return to my roots. I believe now I have the strength to put on a few different hats. It keeps life interesting. So, I have a sheet of paper soaking in the tub as I write this. A trip to the art store to replace my favorite tool, and I will have an oil and watercolor in the works at the same time. I think this will fill me with joy...and joy is what it is all about folks.

I thought it was a reference painting - really. I'm overcome with admiration.

Joy, indeed! This is fabulous! It will be so exciting to see your return to watercolor. I notice you had done this piece on 400# paper -- is that what you will be using now?

Casey - That is a very kind thing to say. Thank you.

Linda - thank you, and I agree. Life has been challenging me lately, but I will make it happen. I believe the piece I pulled out of my paper stash is 300#. Wanting to use up old before buying new. I am sure you know that approach.

You dark horse you! I didn't know you were a watercolourist as well. But what is more natural? I think we all dabble in all mediums before finding the one that becomes the true friend. And a beautiful painting, love the colours in it.

Oh, absolutely lovely, Robin. I would be eager to reacquaint myself with an old friend like that, as well. I hope you're enjoying your painting. Hugs to you and your gang.

Lovely work...no wonder you want to get back to working in a medium that you have such mastery of!

This must be AWSOME in real life. I can never get over how some watercolorist can obtain such realism. Its like looking through a window!

Terri - That is what I have always adored about wc. The light that iminates from within. I love how some can make the colors appear as little jewels. I will keep reaching.

Robin, this is incredibly beautiful watercolor. I had no idea you did wc. You are so versatile and talented.

Mary - yes it is how I learned to paint. My love of Joseph Raffael goes back quite a ways. I hope to bring it back into my life. Thank you for your very special words.

These are one of my favourite flowers and the way you have captured them and given the whole piece movement is wonderful!

Robin this is so inspiring to me. Makes me want to get out a big sheet of wc paper and paint.
thank you for the inspiration.

Felicity - such a simple flower isn't it. I too enjoy its movement. TY

Toni - I am so glad that this was able to grab you and inspire. It works like the snowball effect. In my opinion there is nothing like a full sheet to paint your world. Go with it!

Nice-- you are the watercolor master.

Thank you William. Though that hurdle has been cleared. Guess I just need to set it a bit higher next time.
