Treasures - pastel

18x24"Charcoal on Rives BFK

I just picked this up from the show, and hung another in its place. Kind of like a two for one deal. I need to make sure everything is in its place and fix the final rendition. I am calling this a subfinal, because I need to take a better photo with the tripod. Planning to take this large, so the canvas is gessoed and ready to go.
How exciting! Don't you love to jump in with both feet?

20x25" pastel on Canson

Plum Paper! First pastel... I am pleased.
I used Nupastels on this, as I have a large beautiful set. One day I will treat myself to a large set of soft pastels, but for now I am now convinced I can learn with the supplies I have. I still have a few areas to complete, but I was excited to post something creative.

Robin, I absolutely cannot believe this one. You must be over the moon with delight. Did you really have to draw these "Treasure" again...You are the most patient person I've ever met. Fantastic. Ginny

Yes Ginny, patience is my middle name. I adore seeing things clearly. "Over the moon"... well maybe after I have a few under my belt.

Teri - thank you for that!

Jo - the colors are fun on this aren't they.

Linda - that is kind of you. Yes my first, but I am going to do a second attempt of this, and make it more of a light study. I was a bit off the mark with this color paper, for that. It was fun to challenge myself.

I love the pencil version of the two. Great! Almost like a black & white pic.
