Laguna Beach

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Jeanette. She had come to CA to thaw out from the Newfoundland winter. What a joy to meet another "online" friend. If you haven't arranged such a meeting, I highly recommend it. Some of the nicest people in my life I have met this way.

I drove Jeanette, to see a southern Califonia beach. This certainly was not just a treat for her. I enjoyed it immensely. I picked Laguna Beach, because it has a unique quality about it, and is known as an artist's town.

Now, for as many times as I have been to this beach, I still can not get over it's beauty. I certainly do not make it down here as much as I did in my youth, but it has not aged. In fact, I think it only gets better and better. We took our shoes off, dug our toes into the sand. Briefly strolled over by the tide pools, and let the water brush the bottoms of our jeans. I made a promise to myself that a return trip was definitely in order. That water must be painted.

We could not have been given a prettier day. Yes, the sky was that blue, and the pictures do not do the color in the water justice. I was blown away by the blues, teals, greens. Is this color effecting me because my senses are much more aware now that I study color daily? I certainly hope so. I don't want it to end.

This is February folks. Do you see the surfers?

Oh, but please remember.. the traffic, "smog", congestion, earthquakes, wild fires...

Hi Robin,

Thanks for bringing back good memories of southern CA. It is finally thawing here and starting to rain some. Amazing how fast the snow melts. It is so much fun meeting fellow bloggers. I had the chance to meet Karen and her husband Glenn. Wish I had a full day but only got to have dinner with them. It is so wonderful to put a face to what we see online.
I did get a chance to visit my sister while i was out there and we went into the canyons near Palm Springs. It was beautiful.

Beautiful! That's a real 'Chamber of Commerce' day! :)
The lovely people that you can get to know, these "online" friends ... It sounds like a great day.

It was indeed a treat to meet you Robin and explore a little of your lovely world. I returned to 45cm of snow and was delayed overnight in Toronto due to the blizzard. That's winter in Canada. My escape was heavenly. I think I'll do it again soon.

I agree, touch as many people in your artistic life as you can online or off. They are, without doubt, the most genuine caring people you'd ever want to meet.

Toni - Glad that you had a good visit. We were pouring rain today, so at least we do have some weather once in a while.

Wendee - I would say.
Had a stop by and said Hello to Tony last night. It looks like he has a lively class. Saw Maureen and Craig too.
