This week I was out drawing with Lori, and she took me to "The Retreat". After seeing many places worth remembering, we settled on a grove of olive trees. Beyond was a dry field bathed in sun. A family of deer came searching for a snack, and they were not bothered by our being there. We both had a few moments of solitude and came away filled with gratitude for our gifts.

Beautiful.
I am reminded of this painting.
Beautiful Robin. Charcoal, isn't it? I love the back lighting.
So much serenity in this Robin. I love it!
i love the the bleeched out bit of grass, funny isn't it,not a singlr stroke and it reads like grass, very clever!
Thank you Elizabeth. Similar views, I see it. Interesting, thanks for sharing that.
John. Thanks so much. Yes it is charcoal. I have been having a great time with it lately. Such a simple medium.
Mary - it was a quiet spot. I need to find more places like this to recharge my battery.
Rob - there was no question that the grassy area was the lightest spot. I felt like I was in a dark cave, and the sun was incredibly bright outside.
Hi Robin,
your landscape drawings are very meditative. I would love to see a show of them.
Martin
Hello there Martin. I find the making of these drawing meditative. As for a show, that is one goal of the new year. First I must draw draw draw, to make that happen.
This is lovely, Robin. Apart from everything else I love how you've handled the foliage. I find olive leaves really difficult to capture. Godspeed to your own show.
