Started a fresh one today.
Thinking about memories lately, and have considered how many are stored in boxes, and rarely taken off of the shelf. Wish now I could grab them all and relive them. Certainly took those memories for granted. What memories matter most to you?

Nice drawing, Robin. I like the patterns on the boxes.
Tony - Thanks for stopping by. I see we have friends in common and have painted some of the same places.
excellent symbology! our memories are our inventory. some are worth taking out and opening and some are better left on the shelf. those last boxes should be marked as hazards. lol
Billie - thank you for reading this so well. Maybe I will mark these and yet I don't want them not to occur. I have to believe that my life will be richer for having this experience... just don't realize how yet.
I love your symbology Robin and you picked a perfect example. We always put our important and treasured things in boxes to store when needed.
I hope so Mary. I gave this much thought and came up with many boxes that have created memories. I am looking forward to pulling the next few out of this luscious paper.
This is going to be another beauty, Robin! Looks great already!
Thank you Anita. Working on velvet this time, and it is such fun to draw the richness of that fabric.
I really like the composition in this piece. I have a dumb question: Is this a charcoal drawing in the first stages or is it pencil?
This is definitely a charcoal drawing. I first layer the paper with a fat stick of charcoal, and rub it down with a chamois. Gives the paper a nice mid-tone, from which to pick out the highlights. Drawing first with a kneaded eraser is so free. If you don't like the composition you can just rub it back out with the dirty chamois.
Robin, I see you have been busy! And haven't lost your touch. I love all of your charcoal drawings - those dark leaves in the first one, the comfy pillow in the second and the symbolism of this one. I tell you friend, you are on your way to great things. Maybe at a slower pace then you thought, but definitely on your way.
I hope all of your productivity means the medical stuff has slowed down or resolved. :)
Stacy
HI Stacy! You are so kind my friend. Actually the pace has not skipped the beat by much. My guide has been ever present at my side, and I am looking forward to a fresh new year. Not out of the woods yet, but we are facing each challenge a bit stronger.
Robin, i like the new start much better. your use of light makes me think of shining light into those dark corners of our minds we sometimes choose to ignore. i believe that for every memory we'd just as soon not 'open' there are just as many wonderful memories hiding there, too. it's like Xmas morning..some presnets disappoint, some delight.
No new start Billie, this is just how this medium works. You can push and pull the darks and lights. I will have an update soon.
Robin, these are great! I will go down and comment on all of them , but , boy you have been busy:)
John - yes, for the most part I have been busy. I am grateful each and every day that I can be surrounded by creativity.
Robin, the values in this are looking very good. I think I see your darkest dark and your lightest light that you have talked about.
I am guilty of popping in and watching the work unfold but not commenting. It makes me feel a little like a voyeur so I had to comment. :o)
This drawing is very interesting Robin. I like the symbolic use of boxes/memories as well as the way they are assembled here. Your work has taken a new turn over the last few months and its wonderful.
Mary - was too excited to begin the details. Needed to go back in again to get all of the values corrected. New photo soon.
Jeanette - I understand the need to just sneak through your daily blogwalk.
I am glad that you stopped and said Hi. I hope you are able to see a piece of me in these drawings. My world is being expressed, and I enjoy sharing it.
