I arrived late to our painting site yesterday, so it took me a while to settle in. After putting the values down on my panel, I was seeing the beginnings of an abstract. I decided to follow the feeling and perhaps did not stop soon enough. I realized I was being too literal, and I called it a day.
One of the nicest comments I have ever received on WetCanvas:
I like it when you 'close your eyes and sing.' Kept looking at this piece over the last couple of days and it just stuck with me, it was a pleasant 'haunting.'
Hope you continue in your 'loose brush' style, it's signatory and speaks of a great deal of talent. This piece is reminiscent of Cezanne's planes of color... and, most importantly is an instant, visual barrage of LANDSCAPE SCENE... through your eyes.
It's like you command us to see this...where, if one walked past the scene in real life, it may have been totally unnoticed. I love it.
Let's see more of your work.

Are you talking about photoshop?
If so have you tried under enhance go to adjust color then color variations. Here you can add or subtract color.
not sure if that helps.
PS? I had a teacher tell me that all paintings start out as abstracts and progress to expressionism to impressionism then to realism -- Just how far an artist takes it is our prerogative
Sorry Teri, I was fussing about PhotoShop, and it bugs me when people spend far too much time making excuses for their work. I either need to go learn, or stop complaining. I have been attempting to play with the color and make a mess of it.
Terri - I think I like your teacher.
