Dreaming Big WIP

It is always good to double check perspective, even when you trust your eyes.

Guess I need to get the tools out to draw these ellipses. I am not pulling them off freehand on this one. Constrast? Need to bump it up. Okay... back to work.
Who said Art was easy?

Hi Robin! I just discovered your blog from the Notebookism link, and I love it! I love the way you share your artistic process. I'm a writer and musician; can't really do anything graphic, so your posts are a fascinating insight into what it must be like to draw and paint.

Thank you Nan. I use to use a quote by Edward Hopper "If I could say it with words there would be no need to paint."
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I forget sometimes... these sites are not just for artists that know what I am doing.

This is absolutely beautiful, Robin. I haven't seen one medium you are not excellent at.

Thank you Mary. That is very sweet of you to say. I am sure I could come up with a list.

ART AIN'T EASY! Tools Tools! we don't have tools! (Yes we do...) Michaelangelo had tools and apprentices...

Gorgeous, beautiful, magnificent -- in other words, it's coming along very nicely! Can't wait to see it all finished!
;-D Those pesky elipses haunt all artists at one point or another!

Terri - Yes he did and it wasn't easy for him either. I have never had the urge to throw it all away like some artists. Seeing it with fresh eyes helps me every time.

Laura - what nice words. It is going to be finished soon, I promise. I want to know what the next one will be.

Robin, I'm not sure about the perspective of the glass. The point of view is above the glass, the same the horizon. So the top elipse should be smaller (more flat) than the bottom elipse, and the bottom should be the biggest.
I love your drawing, I was watching it developed on WC! So many textures! Beautiful!

yes I have been working on this Ursa. I was having difficulty with the thickness of the glass and then transferring it down the cylinder. Thank you for your eyes.
