Abstracting Life

I am very fascinated by shadows and abstracted shapes found in architecture. I am working on a series based on such shapes. Using my new color knowledge I am going to create paintings. I know it would be so much easier if I flipped through color swatches in Photoshop, but it is so much more fun smooshing paint around the canvas.

Because I have not finalized the colors for my first painting, I have posted a grayscale oil sketch of it.

This works well - and congratulations on your first grisaille!

I did the color in a small sketchbook in oil, wasn't entirely happy with the colors so I pulled the grayscale to see if it held together. So no grisaille yet.

This looks great, Robin! I'll be back to see more.

Thank you Mary. I know you know about too many things on the burner. This is one. Once I post it though, it will help to keep me honest. Thank you for the reminder.
