Overflow

This is a little river regulator building on the edge of a wash in Wilderness Park in Arcadia. It wasn't much to look at. I am not sure it should have been looked at, but the green is overwhelming in this park, I find myself looking for anything that isn't.
I don't know how great painters capture the light, and don't get lured back to adjust it when the light changes. There is so much to learn.

Hi, It looks like you searched out something very interesting. I like your composition. Your plein air is coming along nicely. I don't get to do it often, but like it and find it takes lots of practice .... and practice, did I say that? It is difficult to keep the light. I was told to squint get the light down in the first 15 minutes in three to five values in large masses and then work on any details. I enjoy your blog.

Jo - I wonder why more artists aren't wrinkled after squinting their way through a painting. Anything worth doing is worth doing well, so I must practice. I wish I could add a few more hours to the day.

Terri - our world is so overwhelming at times it is difficult to capture a brief moment. I am certainly learning a lot... and isn't that what it is all about.

Robin, what a delightful visit I've had this morning here at your blog. Your talent has such a wide range, it's filled me up enough that I can now wrench myself away from this computer and head out for a sketching/library walk. Thanks for the treat!

Such a nice comment, Sue. To have that effect on someone is the ultimate gift.
I hope that you had a day filled with inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.
