Weekend Drawing

Plein Air was cancelled... I think I will go to the sketchcrawl tomorrow. I don't feel well when I am not creative. So for today, I needed to do the WC weekend drawing thread. It was done in my sketchbook, with a mechanical pencil, because I can't find my clutch. I allowed one hour, but called it quits after 1.5 hrs.

A great day for a sketchcrawl. However I think I did more talking than drawing today.
Why do I not spend more time at the Huntington Gardens. It is right in my backyard practically. That is what I will do come Sept. My right of passage will be, a membership, and a weekly visit. For now, I need to get over to Descanso, at least twice a month.
Here is our April group.

Lovely nature - I like the way you contrasted the outline with the toned areas.

It was great to see you again today. Let me know if you'd like some company on a Descanso trip, it's so easy for me to hop over there as long as I don't have a deadline or a client here.

I hope your family members feel better soon, that's such a handful with everyone taking spills all at once.

I put my first crawl sketch up, I'll post the other ones throughout the week, if you want to have a peek.

Lovely sketches. How long did it take to complete the nature illustration? Good luck with the So-Cal sketchcrawl.

Thanks for stopping by Gerald. This particular drawing was about 30 min. I was sitting on the grass though, and with the great view, spectators kept stopping in front of me, oblivious to the fact that I was drawing. It was a busy day in the gardens, and when you pick a beautiful view, it makes sense others will think it is as well. Very hard not to say, "Excuse me...". Little people are attracted to me as well, so I use the time to do some much needed PR for the art of sketching.
